Views in issue management

Modified on Tue, 8 Sep at 2:46 PM

Views help you keep track of issues. This article shows you which views are available, how to customize them, and how to use search, filters, and sorting to find exactly the issues you're looking for.

Overview with views

To get an overview of all issues and their status, issue management provides ready-made views displayed as tables. They're available per team in the left-hand panel.

Predefined views

Overview of the columns

The columns shown depend on the view you've opened. The columns Type, ID, Subject, and Status always stay the same:

  • Type – the issue type selected when the issue was created
  • ID – automatically assigned to every issue, made up of the team code and a running number
  • Subject – the issue's subject
  • Status – the issue's current status

Customize a view's name and icon

You can customize a view's name and icon. Double-click the name to start editing.

Save custom views

You can tailor the predefined views to your needs with just a few adjustments. As soon as you set filter conditions or show or hide columns, this automatically becomes a custom view.

You can save this custom view for yourself using Save as new, or, if you're the team's owner, using Save for everyone to make it available to the whole team.

Quick view for issues

You can open an issue from the overview in two ways: as a full view or as a quick view in the sidebar (on the right).

  • Click the icon to the left of the issue to open the full view.
  • Click the issue title or anywhere else in the row to open the quick view.

From the quick view, you can open the full view using the button in the top right.

The advantage of the quick view: you can quickly click through the table and edit issues directly in the sidebar without leaving the overview. This is handy when you're searching for issues or want to quickly edit several issues in a row.

Good to know: You can drag the left edge of the sidebar to make it wider or narrower. Use the "Maximize view" button to expand the issue across the entire content area.

Search for issues

Use the search bar to search for issues.

Good to know: The search always applies within the view you currently have open. Using the "All issues" view, you can search all issues.

Show and hide columns

Use Columns to adjust which information is shown in the view. You can show or hide individual columns and drag them to change their order.

Good to know: All column and sorting settings are saved in the URL, so you can share the link with others.

Sort issues

Within a view, you can use Sorting to sort by specific fields in ascending or descending order.

You can combine several properties. Use Add property to add further sort criteria; drag them on the right to change their order — and with it, their priority in the sort.

Filter conditions in measure management

Use Add condition to select one or more properties and the matching values.

Good to know: A blue dot on the Filter button shows that filter conditions are already set.

AND/OR filters

You can choose whether multiple filter conditions are combined with AND or OR.

Condition groups

You can combine several filters into a condition group and link that group with other filter conditions.

Adjust column widths

You can set column widths individually, per team and per user, by dragging the borders between the column headers with your mouse.
