Within a team, members take on different roles, each with its own permissions. This article explains the Owner, Editor, and Guest roles and shows you how to manage team members.
Overview of the roles
| Role | Description |
|---|---|
| Owner | Can edit all team properties and manage team members. Views, edits, and creates issues, and can also import measures. Every team must have at least one owner. |
| Editor | Views, edits, and creates issues for the team. Can't edit team details or manage members. |
| Guest | Views the team and its issues and can create new issues. Can't edit issues or view or change team details. |
Tip: For a complete overview of every permission by role, see Permissions and visibility in issue management.
Add team members
If you created a team yourself, you're automatically its owner. In the Members area, you can invite other users or roles.
- In the team menu, open Members and click + Add.

- Select the users and/or roles to add to the team. You can add several at once if they should all get the same team function.
- Choose the team function: Owner, Editor, or Guest.
- Click Add.
Team members are listed alphabetically by last name.
Edit team members
To change an individual member's function, click the edit icon next to their name and select the new role.

Remove team members
Click the X next to a user's name to remove them from the team.

Important: Removing a user from a team doesn't automatically remove them from responsibilities on individual issues. As owner, review open issues and adjust responsibilities whenever you remove team members.
