Use the action plan

Modified on Tue, 8 Sep at 2:51 PM

An action plan bundles several actions into an overarching structure and shows their combined progress. This lets you keep track of all the actions belonging to, for example, an improvement project.

Prerequisites

  • Access to a team where the Action plan issue type is enabled

Step by step

  1. Open your team and click New issue.
  2. Select Action plan as the issue type and give it a meaningful subject.

  3. In the newly created action plan, click Link issue.
  4. Search by subject or issue number. The search covers all teams.

  5. Select a matching issue from the list, or click Create issue to create a new action directly.
  6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 for every issue that should belong to the plan.
  7. If needed, sort the linked issues by drag and drop, e.g. to reflect a priority order.
Good to know: Only issues you have at least read access to are shown. The link works both ways – the linked issue also references the action plan.

Result

The progress of all linked issues is automatically summarized in the action plan's sidebar, e.g. how many issues are open or in progress.
