Getting started with Issue Management

Terms, templates and answers for your first steps.

Here you will find everything you need to get started: the key terms to help you find your way around, templates that get real content into the system within minutes, and answers to the questions that come up most often at the beginning. For an overview of Issue Management, see Issue Management.

In brief: the key terms

When you open Issue Management for the first time, these terms will help you find your way around.

Issue

Anything you want to follow up on: an action, an audit, a risk or an opportunity. Every issue has a number, a status and a responsible person.

Team

An area in which you work on issues relating to one topic together, for example “Internal audits” or “Risks and opportunities”. Teams are created by the Key User.

Issue type

The kind of issue: action, action plan, audit, risk or opportunity. For each team, you define which types are used there.

Roles in the team

Owners manage the team and its members. Editors work on the issues. Guests can view and comment but cannot change anything.

Demo issues

Examples that are already created in a new team, so you can try things out safely. Delete them before you get started for real.

Resubmission

A date on which you are reminded of the issue, also by email. That way nothing gets left behind.

Get started in three steps

From your first team to an overview of everything that is still open.

1

Create a team

Each topic gets its own team, for example for audits or for risks and opportunities. Your Key User creates the team. Then you invite your colleagues and select the issue types you need.

→

2

Create an issue

Create your own issue, with a responsible person and a due date. Already have lists in Excel or want to use our template? Then simply import them.

→

3

Keep track of everything

Set a resubmission date and you will be reminded in good time, also by email. In the views, you filter and sort your lists so you can see at once what is open and what is coming up.

Frequently asked questions

One team or several?

Both work. We recommend one team per topic, for example one for audits and one for risks and opportunities. That keeps every list clear.

I can’t create a team. Why?

Teams are created by the Key User. Everyone else is invited to a team as a member. Best get in touch with your Key User.

What do I do with the demo issues?

Take a look at them and try things out. Before you get started for real, delete them via the three-dot menu. They don’t disappear on their own, not even when you deactivate an issue type.

Why can’t my colleagues see my issue?

New issues are confidential by default. Only owners and editors of the team can see them, guests cannot. Also check whether your colleagues are members of the team.
